The person behind FinMoovi

For years I tracked my own money in an Excel spreadsheet. Rows, columns and formulas only I understood. It worked — but it was work, and every month I ended up putting off entering something.

I hold a degree in Business Administration and a postgraduate degree in Financial Management. Finance has always been my field, and the spreadsheet still wore me down. If it wore down someone who enjoys the subject, imagine someone who does not.

In May 2025 I decided to build for myself the thing I actually wanted to use: an app that records an expense in seconds, works without an internet connection, and does not send my transactions anywhere.

It turned out well enough that in August 2026 I decided to open it to the public. That is all FinMoovi is: a tool built by someone who needed it.

The project started in May 2025 and was only opened to the public in mid-August 2026. That is fifteen months of using the app every day, alone, before asking anyone to pay for it.

It explains choices that look odd from the outside: the app works offline, your financial data stays on your device, and you can export everything to CSV whenever you want. These are not marketing features — they are things I wanted for myself.
